East Lake Clean UP event this Saturday March 14, 2015

Dear East Lake Community members,

It's time again for our semi-annual clean up at East Lake.  This year, East Lake Merchants Association is happy to announce that the event is spearheaded by two seven graders from Bentley school in Oakland: Lily Pham and Isabelle Bodner, together With the support of our Co-hosts, Ebayc ( East Bay Asian Youth Center) and Our district 2 council office: Abel Guillen.    Follow is the information:

Place: Clinton Park (Corner of 7th Ave and International Blvd.)
Address: 655 International Blvd. Oakland, CA 94606
Time: 9-12 pm
Date: Saturday, March 14, 2015

The Mayor of Oakland: Libby Schaaf, our councilman: Abel Guillien, and our Police officers will also make an appearance at the event, being there to encourage and support our cause.
We will collect trash and paint the graffiti walls from 9:00 am to 11:00 am, and then reconvene for lunch. We will have a talent show, and expect to wrap up shortly after noon. We will all be tired by then, so it will be a good treat in the park.

The talent show will be a new aspect of the event hosted by a group of students at Bentley, one that we think will be fun because the participants can show off their unique talents! The winner of the talent show will be presented with a gift card for $50.

As for the food, there will be a provided lunch for each person who participates. The event will be held at Clinton Park, and all paint and equipment will be provided.  We just need you to show up ready to work (and in older clothing!).

Every volunteer will be appreciated, and we hope that you bring your friends and family to come and support the Oakland Community!

Sincerely,

East Lake Merchants Association
